Fall 2011: Part Two
OK, now for my five personal “Yeas”:
- Polka dots
Vena Cava Fall 2011 RTW. Instead of a dress, I’ll be looking for a polka-dotted sweater or top.
- Bold color mixes
Prabal Gurung Fall 2011 RTW. I like the can’t-miss combo of orangey red and hot pink accented with black.
Prada Fall 2011 RTW. Ooh, teal with a flash of red. I may also mix teal and coral.
- Retro dresses
Blumarine Fall 2011 RTW. Mod shift dress. Easy, flattering shape. I’d choose a different color, though; the solid purple reminds me of Barney or Grimace.
- Novelty knits
Preen Pre-Fall 2011 RTW. I like the fuschia wool skirt paired with the neutral cropped, chunkier-knit sweater but prefer the more fitted silhouette below.
Rebecca Taylor Fall 2011 RTW. I love this sweater and am hoping to find something like it but with long or 3/4-length sleeves. It would go with a lot of skirts I already have.
- Menswear-inspired shoes
Marc by Marc Jacobs tassel pumps with stacked heels in Bordeaux Gold, $295 at Bloomingdale’s.
Fendi Fall 2011 RTW. Textured colored tights will look good with stacked heels and loafers. I’m a fan of cool hosiery.
Next up: taking inventory of my closet. It’s not like accounting, I promise! It’s fun!
