It’s De-Lovely

As my blogging alias suggests, I’ve been exceedingly practical lately but without the fun fashionista part. You see, I’ve been following this handy spring cleaning checklist to give our house a good top-to-bottom scrub. While it’s supremely rewarding to wipe away a year’s worth of dust and grime from window blinds and light fixtures, the tedium has also given me a welcome opportunity to reflect on more delightful things…

I came across these whimsical food-and-flower compositions by California-based photographer Julie Lee via the design blog The Fox is Black:

Neat collage by artist Julie Lee. Her work “features a combination of food stuffs paired with vibrantly colored flowers.”

It reminds me of this sleek ad for Arclinea kitchen cabinetry in Interior Design magazine:

Organized organics.

Here’s another dainty collage:

This piece includes flowers, asparagus tips and sugar snap peas.

Its color palette of green, yellow, purple and pink is similar to this Spring 2013 runway look:

From the 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear collection.

Hmm, I’m now inspired to adorn our back patio with some cheery flowers. From the Home Depot. It’s domestic de-loveliness.
